Imogene B. Anderson

Life Reflections 

Imogene Anderson was born on August 17, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the eldest of 3 siblings born through the union of Mattie Louise and James Powell. 

Imogene was educated in the Chicago Public School System and pursued her collegiate endeavors. She enjoyed writing poetry, traveling, baking, spending quality time with her family and friends and observing nature. Following her love for nature, she relocated with her mother and husband to Delta Colorado, upon her retirement from the Internal Revenue Service. Imogene and her husband tended to their land and had a small orchard and garden. Imogene welcomed chickens, goats, sheep, horses and other farm animals to her " Rocky Road Ranch". 

Imogene had a strong sense of faith and a love for family. She always made sure every year to send "goodie boxes" to friends and family from her ranch. 

On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, Imogene Anderson transitioned from this plane of existence to the afterlife. Preceding her in death were her Mother, Mattie Louise Powell, Father, James Powell, Husband, Fred Anderson, and Brother, Jamiel Maamoon (James Powell). 

Leaving to cherish her memories are: 1 Sibling, Sandra Bibbs (Aurora, IL); 5 nieces-Debra Pheloan (James) of Lansing, IL, Andrea Woods of Montgomery, IL, Toya (David) Williams, Phylicia (Martez) Malone of Montgomery, IL, Jaquita Davis (Iowa), Javon Davis (Iowa); Great niece, Wendy (Mark) Pack of Hammond, IN; Great Great Niece, Sahara Pack of Hammond, IN, Great, Great Nephew Mark Pack Jr. of Hammond, IN and a host of other relatives, friends and acquaintances.
