Alice M Parks' Obituary
Alice Parks Obituary
Alice M. Parks was born on June 5, 1943 in Middlesex, NJ to Reginald S. Wilson, Sr. and Carrie Wilson. Alice accepted Christ at a young age; and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Thompson of the United Methodist Church of Cranbury, NJ.
Alice received her education through the Cranbury Public School System. During her youth she enjoyed participation in the "March of Dimes" Campaign to help needy children. She also enjoyed modeling, dancing, and singing with a local group, "The Cranbury Hearts".
During her working years, she was the first black waitress to work for Howard Johnsons on the New Jersey Turnpike. Alice also held other jobs in retail, house-keeping, and she also assisted at a nursing home in Harvey, IL.
Alice left her roots in NJ and married her "heart", Charlie H. Parks, Jr. Together they raised seven children. Alice loved her family and did everything she could with God's help to nurture and raise her children in a loving home (which included discipline when needed).
Alice was a 'community mom', sharing wisdom with other children that came by the house. She was involved with the PTA; the Marshfield Block Club; and would attend city meetings with other concerned citizens of Markham, IL to ensure their voices were heard regarding community issues.

Dr. Dale Lawson, Sr. Alice loved the Lord and loved being in His service. She served as a missionary, greeter and with the comfort outreach ministry.
