Anthony Christopher Rucker was born on a bright and blessed morning September 10th 1955 to Eddie and Della Mae Rucker. Anthony was the 2nd born of his siblings AND THE OLDEST SON. Anthony was given a childhood name by his Grandmother Latisha Hatch Poncho. Friends and family affectionately knew him as "Poncho".
Anthony took his role as the oldest male child in the family seriously and as a pleasure, he always willing to take the lead. As a teenager, Anthony enjoyed reading, singing, dancing, watching sports, and socializing with close friends. Anthony accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized by Rev. Daniels of Antioch M.B.Church. Later joining Salem Baptist under the leadership of James Meeks.
In 1972 Anthony joined the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. Anthony received his Bachelor of Science degree and later took a position with AT&T as a Network Tech Manager which allowed him to travel and live in California, Colorado, and finally to retire in Minnesota.
1974 Anthony met and married the love of his life Marquitha Wright. The two had one child Karmelle Rucker. Anthony was stepfather to Mario Wright. Both Marquitha and Karmelle preceded him in death. In 2021 Anthony retired from AT&T and enjoyed traveling, reading, sports and Facebook with his friends and family.
On Sunday, November 17th 2024 God called Anthony Home to rest. He leaves to cherish his mem01y: Step Father, Charles T. Peters, Siblings: Sheila, Dale, Maurice, Scott of Denver, CO, Tamberlin, Melodie, Jeffiey (LaWanna), Melda, Porchia, and Bobbie; two aunts: Essie Judon and LaTisha Hatch; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, and one Best friend Duane Flagg.
