On Tuesday August 20, 2024, Carolyn Mims, loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 73-
Carolyn was born on August 12, 1951, in New Orleans, LA. to George Kelly, Sr. and Frankie Lee Kelly. Her loving mother and father, both preceded her in death.
Carolyn was a well-educated woman; she graduated from the School of Nursing as a RN; with a master’s in nursing. Carolyn loved working and caring for others in need. She loved interacting and caring for her patients.
Carolyn was the oldest of six children. Estella Kelly who preceded her in death, Beatrice, George, Chapelle and Deshell.
Carolyn married Martenias Johnson Sr. They had one son together. She later married Anthony Mims Sr. who preceded her in death. They had one son.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory: her 3 sons: Martenias Johnson Jr, Anthony Mims Jr, and Jerome Mims (who she adopted later during her last marriage); her granddaughter, Sydney Mims (who she dearly loved and raised as her own); her daughters-in law: Cynthia Johnson, and Ruth Mims, siblings: Beatrice, George, Chapelle, and Deshell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carolyn will truly be missed by her loved ones. We are grateful that we were able to experience her smile, laughter, and her selfless heart; and the Love she held for Jesus Christ.
