Cathryn Lynn (Pearson) Barney's Obituary
Cathryn Barney Obituary
Cathryn Lynn Pearson-Barney was the ninth of ten children born to the union of William and Riccie Mae Pearson on May 24, 1959, in Berwyn, Illinois. She served in the United States Air Force until receiving an honorable discharge in 1979.
She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Shiloh
Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Nedical C. Porter. She later reaffirmed her membership under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Jimmie L. Daniels and served on the Women’s Ministry.
On October 14, 2009 she married Gilbert Barney the love of her life after 35 years. They shared a bond so strong and she cherished this love each day of her life. There wasn’t a single day that passed where Gilbert was not visiting her at the hospital or rehabilitation center.
Cathryn performed various jobs throughout her life and was very passionate about her family and caring for her nieces and nephews whenever she needed to lend a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
After a long battle with her health, God saw that his Angel had become weary and called her home to be with the Lord on Friday February 15, 2019 at 8:15 p.m. with her family praying by her side.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted and loving husband; Gilbert Barney; six sisters; Annie Mae of Dale City VA; Geneva, Ora (Tom), Sharon, Jessica, and Jewell; brother; Keith Sr.; One Uncle; Thomas (Joyce); Two Aunts; Cloteal and Pearl of Racine WI; And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
