Clarence Carey was born on March 18, 1931, to Ellis and Clara Carey in Vicksburg, MS. In 1946 he met Katie Mae Fuqua, they would many in May of 1951; this union would raise 11 children. Clarence had a daughter, Helenstine Watson from a previous relationship. His wife, Katie Mae, and eight of their children, preceded
him in death.
In 1966 he joined New Hope Missiona1y Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Sammy Lewis. He served as a deacon and as an usher-he served as an usher until 2016.
Clarence was employed at Paper Converting for 30 years, then at Watersave Faucet Company for 19 years w1til retirement. In retirement Clarence enjoyed walking, gardening, shopping,(especially the flea market) and going to the casinos. He would say of his garden, whether it yielded a plentiful crop or not, ''I'll take what the Lord gives me and be happy with it".
Clarence leaves to cherish his men101y: 4 daughters: Helenstine Watson, Mary Annie Walker, Dorothy Ann Pierce, and Doris Diana (Diane) Hill;19 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren, 17 great, great-grandchildren, 3 brothers-in-law, I aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
