Desmond R. Blackman was born April 24, 1931 in Trinidad & Tobago to the union of Elisa Benjamin and Roland Blackman who both preceded him in death.
Desmond received his formal education in Trinidad. He was a talented athlete, who played multiple sports; a skillful soccer player, and was afforded an opportunity to play soccer in England. Desmond also was a skilled basketball player at the Wood-Brook Youth Center. He was also a star player for Providence Football Club .
Desi was a skillful golfer who became a member of the elite, few given, exclusive membership of the “Forest Preserve Golf of Cook County Hole in One Club”.
Desi was also a Master Bowler and honored by the American Bowling Congress for Bowling a “299 Game”. Desmond was well known and admired by all who met and knew him. He joined our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 25, 2019.
Desmond leaves to cherish his memories: Dianne Wallace; his companion of 25 years; three sisters: Shirley, Bonnie and Helen; two brothers: Carl and Ivan; children: Anthony, Delores, Dexter, Denise, Jefferey and Desiree; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
