Life Reflections
We've come here today to say goodbye to Diane S. King Gibson made her transition early Sunday morning. Irma S. Curington was born December 30, 1954, to the union of Lula B. and Abe Curington, Jr. in Chicago, IL. where she spent 8 years of her life before moving to Markham, IL. in 1963 where she will spend the rest of her years.
Irma would later become the first graduate of Thornwood high school in South Holland, IL. in 1973. She would go on and work as an administrator at the Continental bank which is currently called the Bank of America Downtown Chicago, IL for 12
She then moved on to spend another 18 years working for TCI cable company which later would become Comcast, she then retired in 2022.
On Tuesday August 1, 2023, Irma S Curington entered Eternal vacation. She leaves beautiful memories to be cherished by her loving and devoted son, Brandon C. Stovall of Portage, IN; two sisters: Rebecca White (deceased), and Delores Curington-Brown; both of Chicago, IL; her two brothers: Donald Curington (deceased), and Lester McSwain (deceased); two sisters-in-law: Phillis Butler of Calumet City, IL. and Verline Muhammad of Phoenix, IL; two nephews: Jesse White and Maurice McSwain; two nieces: Robin Berry, and Cherice Curington; five grandnieces: Ashley, Erica, Chalae, Ciara and Chanel; and her four sisters by friendship: Doris E. Marshall, Annie Clinton, Denise Johnson and Laveta Holmes.
morning on Sunday, August 20, 2023 after a long illness. Diane was born on October 9, 1952 to the union of Henry Earl and Marian Elizabeth King.
Diane worked for the City of Chicago for over 20 years, until she retired in 2004. Working various jobs throughout the city. Diane loved to shop and to socialize; those were her favorite things to do in her down time.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Michael Earl, David Quincy, Kevin Samuel, and Christopher Aaron; one nephew, Clarence C. McKinney; and one son-in-law, Kenneth A. Granberry.
Diane leaves to cherish her memories to her sister, Christine Linda Jones of Justice, IL; one aunt, Frances Purnell of Wheaton, MD; two daughters: Carmen L. (Arthur) Vaughn, and Tiffany M. Granberry; two grandchildren: Isis C.T. Granberry and Dakoda L. Vaughn; two nieces: Marshall Buggs of Lansing, MI, and Tara Jones of Justice, IL; four great nephews: Michael E. King, Daquan L. Parker, Darryl V. McKinney, Jr., and Eric C. Dotson; four God Daughters; and a host of family and friends.
