He was an amazing coach, teacher and most of all a great mentor to many. I’m proud to have known him and I know my dad was proud to call him friend. Burlington lost a legend that will be missed for years to cone. The legacy he leaves behind will never be forgotten. RIP Coach Gibbs, Burlington lost one of it’s finest when you left this earth.
My family moved to Burlington the middle of my junior year. Â He taught a history class I took my first semester at BHS. Â He helped me feel welcome at my new school.
What a great coach to my son and in later years our neighbor. We were very blessed to have you in our lives. Sending many prayers to your family.
Don and Larita were such great friends of my parents Kenny and Ginny Aller. My condolences to his family. Prayers to you all. May he rest in peace.ðŸ™Â
Please know how much Don meant to our family in so many ways. He taught our daughter Alyssa many life lessons when he coached James Madison middle school. Each practice had a life lesson. For that we are thankful. I will miss the many conversations and the fun we had broadcasting high school and SCC games on KBUR. Coach Gibbs was a great educator and coach , also a wonderful caring Man,, Coach you may be gone but my guess your coaching in the heavens,, You made athletes and young Sons and daughters into Men and Women , you were so much more than just a teacher and coach..Â
