Dorothy Bogard's Obituary
Dorothy Bogard Obituary
Dorothy Mae (Hoskins) Bogard was born on February 14, 1932 to the union of Charles Frank and Laura Lee (Carpenter) Hoskins in Dixmoor, IL; she was the eighth of their nine children.
Dorothy accepted Christ, and was baptized at an early age by Reverend J.J. Kidd at True Vine
Missionary Baptist Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by both parents; four brothers; four sisters; one son, and one grandson.
Dorothy was a graduate of McKinley Elementary School in Dixmoor, Illinois; and she also attended Thornton Township High School. Dorothy was united in matrimony to Hardy Bogard, which produced one son, William; and she later had four more children.
Dorothy was employed as a bus monitor for the Beckham School Transportation Company for a number of years before becoming disabled. When Dorothy purchased her first home, she stated that her family would always have a place to stay.
That was one way of showing how much she loved each, and every one of them no matter what difficulties they faced in life.
Dorothy Bogard departed this life on Saturday, February 24, 2024 after a long illness. Despite her diagnosis, Dorothy remained a source of strength for her family. She will forever be remembered for her humor, her laughter, joy, and smile.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her remaining children: Tyanne Bogard, Cassandra Bogard, Corey Brown,
and Monique Bogard; and grandchildren;
8 great-grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandchild, and a host of relatives, and friends.
