E.D. Davis, Jr. Obituary
E.D. Davis Jr. was born March 27, 1940 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was the fourth child born into the union of the late Bishop E.D. Davis Sr. and the late Mother Emma Beatrice Gray-Davis.
On June 1, 2019, he peacefully transitioned into eternity. Brothers Willie Mack, Eligah, Jeremiah, Lewis and Sisters Corrie, Geordia and Eula preceded him in death.
After attending Townsend Park High School in Pine Bluff Arkansas, E.D. relocated to Chicago, IL where he met and married the late Patricia A. Davis. Into this union, 5 children were born. Daughter Lillian, preceded him in death.
E.D. was affectionately known as “Jr” to family and friends. He was thoughtful, intelligent and skilled. He would complete various projects without the use of instructions, stating that instructions were for “dummies”. He was employed with Best Kosher Foods where his hard work and dedication earned promotion to supervisor
Raised in a loving Christian home, he accepted Christ as his savior and attended the Church of God Pentecostal Inc. under the leadership of his Father, the late Bishop E.D. Davis Sr. During his senior years, he was a faithful member of Miracle Center COGP, Inc under the leadership of Bishop Antonio F. Davis, his son.
In 2010, He married Lettie Silas and gained a “bonus” son and daughter.Forever Cherishing his memory: Wife-Lettie Davis, 2 Sons: Antonio (Renee) Davis, Edmond (Jeanette) Davis, 2 Daughters; Ewana Davis, Sheritha (Avery) Davis-Stallings; 1 Brother; Ray (Shirley) Davis, 3 Sisters; Dr. Brenda (Johnny)Young, Trinette (Trevor) Law, Carrie (Joseph) Jackson. Stepson; Michael Silas, Stepdaughter; Katrina (John) Amos. Sisters in Law; Ada Davis, Katherine Davis, Princess Davis, Clara (Leroy) Harrington, and Essie (Arthur) Francisco. 2 Aunts; Stella Davis and Mary Davis. 8 Grandchildren: Edmond Davis Jr, Ryan Davis, Erica Davis, Tiara (Kenneth) Weeks, Ashley Dunlap, Jadyn Amos, Janiyah Amos. 5 Great-Grandchildren: Chance Davis, Josiah Hardy, Kenneth Jones Jr, Aubrielle Williams, Kayon Jones and a host of caring nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church members.
