Edgar Jerome “Topper” Wiley Jr. was born co the union of Edgar and Anna Wiley on June 22, 1948, in Evanston, Illinois. He was the only child co bless this union. Boch parents preceded him in death. Topper received his nickname from his father. For him, "TOPPER" was the top of his world.
Living in Evanston, Illinois were the formative years for Topper and gave him a sense of stability as well as belonging. He met people chat would be with him all his life. Topper never met anyone as a stranger. If Topper met you, you became his lifetime friend because that's who Topper was in this life. He was a FRIEND.
As Topper was preparing for his secondary education, Topper moved to Chicago where he lived with Aunt Carrie and Uncle Lou. Topper attended Harlan High School. He distinguished himself in the Track and Field program at Harlan as a Pole Vaulter. As a Pole Vaulter, of course, Topper saw himself as a rising star. Relationships formed at Harlan would of course remain with him his entire life. Thar's who he was. Topper never let go of friends. Upon completion of his education at Harlan High School, Topper went on to his cherished and beloved Tuskegee College. He began friendships with people that he cherished forever. If you were his FRI END, you are still his friend as he never let you go. Topper returned to Chicago to complete his formal education. Enrolling at Roosevelt University, cook Topper in another direction Omega Psi Phi called co him and he answered the call. This brotherhood brought another group of
friends into Topper's life. Again, lifetime friendships. He was a brother co his brothers always!
Because Topper was a man of many hats, everywhere he worked he left that place better than he found it. Of course, he always acquired more friends at every venture of his life. He added spice co the life of his friends, as well as he was always there when they needed him.
As he grew in life, he met a woman chat would forever change his life and capture his heart. Angela Bueler became the love of Topper's life.
As they transitioned in life together, Topper and Angela began a blended family, when Topper and Travis joined Angela and William (Bill). To the union of Topper and Angela, a daughter L'Rin was born. L'Rin proceeded her dad in death, but she was never lee go or forgotten. Topper was truly a girl's dad.
Topper began and established his own business, Edgar Wiley Limousine service. His Limousine Service was so appropriate for him, as it gave him his continued connection with his family and friends. Topper provided everyone with first class service.
Angela and Topper traveled as often as they could. Their travels cook chem co Paris, Hawaii, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Bahamas and Jamaica. Their travels also cook chem on many cruises where upon returning, they would share their travels through stories with the grandchildren as an extra educational bonus. Education was important co Topper and reading was his favorite. Books held his interest, and he would share what he was reading with friends and would hold lengthy conversations discussing his latest read. But his real joy was when his authors went audio. He could now drive all day and still enjoy his favorite past time.
Topper leaves co cherish his memories, Angela, a loving wife of thirty-eight years; two sons, Travis, William (Gabby) daughter-in-law Yolanda; grandchildren, Tania, Travis, Renee, Aaliyah, William Mike, Trenton and Trinity; and great grand-daughter London, Godson, Jason; and Aunt Rose and a host of cousins and friends chat are coo numerous co list.
