Edward Madison Sr.'s Obituary
Edward Madison Sr. Obituary
Edward S. Madison, Sr. was born on February 2, 1941, in Monroeville, AL. to the late Charlie and Mary Lee Madison. Edward was the 11th child of 16 Madison children.
Edward accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church in Monroeville, AL. Edward attended, and graduated from Union High School in Monroeville, AL. in 1961; he played the drums in the school band; and was interested in brick masonry. While in high school Edward delivered newspapers before heading to school each day; he was always a diligent worker.
Edward moved to Chicago, IL. in 1962; where he joined New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Stroy Freeman; he then joined the usher board and was a faithful member of New Friendship; and the Usher Board until his health recently prevented him from doing so.
Edward married his childhood friend, and the love of his life, Thelma Tate on April 25th, 1965; they would have celebrated 59 years of marriage this year. To this union one child was born, Edward S. Madison Jr.
Edward made a career painting cars at Van Male Buick Auto, where he worked for many years; later retiring from Addison Auto; he enjoyed working around the house; fixing whatever needed to be fixed, at his home, as well as with family and friend's homes.
Edward lived his life to the fullest, with no regrets. Whether he was traveling with his wife and family or having a good time competing in many bowling tournaments. Edward was the favorite uncle with so many siblings, it is a wonder how he kept up with all the nieces and nephews; but he did, whether it was a call or text he was always checking on everyone.
