Charles Edward Marshall, 84 was called to his eternal rest on May 31, 2024, in Harvey, IL. Charles E. Marshall was born to the late Jesse and Cora Marshall, in Greenwood, MS. on October 22, 1939.
Charles E. Marshall was the eldest of three children; he was known to many as “Eddie". He migrated from Mississippi as a young man and created roots in Harvey, IL. In 1960, Eddie married Ora Vinson; to this union, five children were born. The couple remained together until her passing in 2000.
In 2003, Eddie found love again when he married Rosemary Smith; they enjoyed attending and worshiping at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness and traveling together. Eddie symbolized his dedication to Jehovah by water baptism on July 6, 2016. Eddie and Rosemary were happily married
until his passing.
Eddie dedicated over forty years in the construction industry. Eddie was described as hard-working, and caring by those who knew him best. Eddie enjoyed listening to smooth sounds by Johnny Taylor and James Brown; watching Western movies, playing bid whist, and spending time outdoors.
Eddie was a loving and supportive husband, father, brother and family man. He enjoyed good food, good conversation and good times with family and friends.
Eddie L Marshall leaves behind: wife, Rosemary; sister, Azeal Branch; five children: Mark (Susan) Marshall; Brenda (Eddie) Dyson, Charles (Dolly) Marshall, Scott (Suzette) Marshall, and Derrick (TaNesheha) Marshall; his Goddaughter, Janika Thomas; four stepchildren: Renee Truitt, Sheryl Smith, Derek Smith, and Yvette Smith; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Marshall; his mother, Cora Marshall; sister, Jearline Marshall; and previous wife, Ora Marshall. Eddie Marshall will be dearly missed by all who know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he coached.
