Eleanor Taylor was born on January 31, 1933 in Fayette,
Mississippi to the union of the late Samuel and
Catherine Wren.
In 1954 Eleanor came to Chicago, Illinois where she met her husband of 61 years, Ford Taylor. They were united in holy matrimony on January 18, 1958; five children were added to this union.
Eleanor accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She became a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church located in Chicago, Illinois. She became a member of Vernon Baptist Church and served as an active member of the choir.
Eleanor worked and volunteered her talents with several missionaries as a cook and a church event planner.
Eleanor enjoyed reading, exercising and watching the daytime soap operas and game shows. She was loving, kind, witty and loved to laugh. She also wouldn’t hesitate to speak her mind and enjoyed a good joke.
She is preceded in death by her eldest son, Donald Ray Wren; her sisters: Flora Ellis and Verlene Davis and her brothers: James Wren, Amos Wren, Eddie Wren and Bernard Wren.
Eleanor was a devoted wife and mother. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Ford M. Taylor; four children: Derek Taylor, Gregory Taylor (Karla), Yolanda Yvette Hudson (Bo), and Jennifer Taylor (Ernest); eight grandchildren: Derek Taylor, Jr., Erek Taylor, Terynce Taylor, Brandon Hudson, Jasmin Newell, Amber Taylor, Demitri Smith and Lauren Hudson; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.
