Erma Jean Tucker was born January 8, 1937 in Bivins, Texas. Erma Jean was one of eleven children of Clayton and Fannie Roquemore. Erma Jean was called home to rest from her earthy labor, on the eve of July 5, 2019.
Erma Jean accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age at St Paul Baptist Church.
Erma Jean was educated in the Texas school system and attended Wiley College in Marshall, Texas at the age of fifteen. She joined the Upsilon Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta sorority while at Wiley College.
Erma Jean married Gary Tucker, on October 4, 1958 and they celebrated forty six years together prior to the passing of her husband in 2005. She was employed by Spiegels, Inc., as a Supervisor for 30 years and retired in 1995.
Erma Jean was a devoted wife and mother that raised her three children, Altheia LaJoyce, Harold Glen and Gary Renard.
Survivors celebrating her life and cherishing precious memories: daughter, Altheia (Carey) Roquemore Goins; son, Harold (Myra) Tucker; brother, Fred (Theresa) Roquemore; sisters, Goldie Cheatham and Ola Lewis; grandchildren, Ikedichi Ofor and Paris Tucker; great grandchildren, Raja Williams and Malachi McClure and many relatives & friends.
