Ernest Bolton's Obituary
Ernest Bolton Obituary
Ernest Maurice Bolton was born on November 20, 1957 in Memphis Tennessee to parents, Gladys and Walter Bolton.
As a small child, the family moved from Tennessee to the West-side of Chicago, and ultimately made a home in the south suburb of Markham, IL, where he grew up with his eight siblings.
As a teenager, Ernest confessed his hope in Christ and was baptized at the Universal Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Thornridge High School, and began working immediately after graduation. He has spent the past 25 years as a Security Officer for District 149, where students and staff loved and supported him.
Ernest took an unconventional path in life by staying in the surroundings that were most comfortable to him. No matter what others wanted for him, he was content with what he had. He was blessed with a loving family and friends, many of whom were cultivated through hanging out at Gloria’s, in downtown Harvey. A remarkable dart player and karaoke singer, he became a fixture at the social club and was affectionately known as “sweet-daddy”.
Ernest made his transition into God's everlasting arms on Wednesday, January 2019. Ernest was preceeded in death by his Father, Walter, and two brothers, Marvin and Glenn Bolton. He leavesto celebrate his memory, his loving mother, Gladys; Four brothers: Joe (Kimberly), Charles (Cheryl), Stacey (Sheri), and Christopher (Marnie). Three sisters: Carolyn, Angie (Norris, Jr.), and Arletha. Seven nephews, Twelve nieces: a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members, and a loving East Markham community of friends.
