Geraldine Jones' Obituary
Geraldine Jones Obituary
eraldine Jones was born on January 22, 1946 in Montgomery, AL. to the parents of Carl and Geraldine Moody. At an early age, Geraldine and her family relocated to Chicago. She attended First Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as her personal savior.
Geraldine or as her family and friends would call her "Geri", graduated from Harrison High School in 1964. After high school, she worked at Spiegel and Illinois Bell. Geri began her career at the United States Postal Service in 1976 and retired after 40 plus years of service.
Geri was well loved and respected. She would often come home from work and share stories about her "Work Babies" or as she would call them her "Post Office Babies". It's no secret that they loved her just as much as her family loved her. Outside of work, she loved spending time with her grandkids. One of her many staples was making macaroni and cheese.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Danielle, three sisters, three brothers and two grandsons.
Geri leaves to cherish her loving memory with her only living sibling, Lynetta (Lawrence), her children: Kimberly, David (Betty), Rhonda, and Anthony (Corsica); her grandchildren: Ikina, Derek, Ne-Ne (Yoshi), Tootie, Brittany, Kierra, Ryan, Jakina, AJ, Rashaad, and Mia, 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; she also leaves her special friend, Alexander; as well as, her Post Office Family.
