Harrison Eugene Ratliff's Obituary
Harrison Ratliff Obituary
Raised in Markham, Illinois, Harrison Eugene Ratliff was a graduate of Thornton High School, where he was a Thornton Wildcat athlete and varsity band musician. He immediately went on to cultivate the skills that his father passed on as a drywaller and taper. Later those skills allowed him to provide for his family. The skills that he acquired under the tutelage of his father allowed him to work for industry leaders in many of Chicago’s signature buildings seen today seen today.
Harrison was a member of the United States Army serving overseas in Berlin and Korea. Later in his military career, he traveled all over the Midwest rendering military honors for deceased veterans.
He and his family were blessed to open their home in Radcliff, Kentucky to The Sign of the Dove Church Waukegan (TSOTD), as a cell group, hosting services on Sunday and Wednesday Evenings. Harrison was a very important part of this church in its early stages and today many he witnessed to, are now Pastors and leaders in the church ministry.
Upon his retirement, Harrison took the opportunity to spend more time with his family, go fishing, watch football, shoot the breeze, sing and listen to music with his family & friends.
Encouraged by his siblings, in the fall of 2024, Harrison moved back to his boyhood hometown of Markham, IL. Once again, Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, proved to be the author and finisher of his faith as he allowed Harrison to come back home, reunite with loved ones and friends, his sons, and grandchildren whom he loved, cherished and bragged on.
On November 23, 2024, Harrison Eugene Ratliff completed his tour of duty here on Earth, when “the lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
