Henry Andrew Wright was born March 20, 1943, in St. Louis Missouri, as an only child, to the late Henry Wright and Doris E. Berry-Christmas.
Henry was blessed with the loving dedication of his parents; at an early age he was introduced to Christ by his mother’s unwavering faith and commitment to the Gospel. He spent his childhood and primary young adult years in Missouri, and later relocated with his parents to Chicago, Illinois, where he resided until his passing, February 27, 2019.
Prior to Henry’s military service, he welcomed his first-born child, Deandra Evans. April 5, 1960, at the age of 17, Henry enlisted in the United States Army, and served as a Private First Class; he was honorably discharged, March 28, 1963.
At the age of 20 years old, Henry was united in matrimony, to Dartha Garett; during this union, he was blessed with one daughter, Luticia Wright Luckey. Later in life, he met Bernice Powell; Kimberly Powell, was born to this union. He was also fortunate to raise Timothy Powell.
After his time in the United States Army, Henry worked many years at Pullman Steel, as a Forklift Operator, until he retired. Years later, he met Letha McKinney, and children, whom he raised and spent the remaining years with until his death. He resided in Markham, Illinois and treasured his family, community and ability to serve others.
Henry was vibrant and truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory: six children, Luticia “Kandy”

(9) grandchildren; Lakesha, Savannah, Andrea, Eric, Justin, Camerron, Carlos, Marcus and Jason; (6) great grandchildren; and a host of cousin’s, relatives and friends.
