J C Cole Obituary
J.C. was born on October 21, 1937, the second child, born to Mae Atrice and Clark Cole Sr. in Louise, MS.
He relocated to Phoenix, IL in 1956 where he met and married Carolyn Moody. To this union five daughters were born and raised in Markham, IL.
J.C. worked in a factory for over 20 years and he retired from school district 144.
He was known by many as “Bruh-Boy” and wearing stylish clothes and driving fancy cars. He was also known for his many sayings, the most popular being – “you gone get it buddy!”
J.C. loved the blues, leading him to TRY his hand at the guitar. He loved and protected his girls, whom he raised alone after the passing of his wife in 1975.
He will always be remembered as: “J.C. who worked at A.C. and drove an L.C.”
J.C. leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters – Dorothy Stanley, LaDonna Cole-Gill, Wanda Cole, Paula (James) Wallace, Charis (Randy) Jamison, and Hope (Darrell) Hayes; 24 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; his siblings – Annie Pearl McClendon, Ernest, Dorothy (Nate) McCorkle, Helen (Jason) Snoddy, Edna (Leonard) Johnson, Clark (Theresa), Lorrine Washington, Mary, and Betty (Darryl) Bell; one aunt – Ida Broomfield and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his wife-Carolyn, his parents-Clark Sr. & Mae Atrice, four brothers- Jonathan, Sammy, Lee & Charles and three sisters – Rosalee, Earline & Deritha Vaughn
