James Myers Jr. Obituary
James graduated from Hyde Park Academy in the late 196o's. After graduation he began his career for the City of Chicago; first working with the Water Department; then after several years he transferred to the Streets of Sanitation Department where he dedicated 34 years of service. James was known among, friends and co-workers as "G-Man". His hard work, and his reliability, earned him the respect, and the admiration of his colleagues.
James was known for his vibrant personality and infectious laughter. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him and was always the life of the party. His favorite saying, "Hello Chicago" became a cherished greeting among family and friends.
James met his beloved wife, Barbara Myers in 1987- They were married on July 7, 1990. Together, they built a loving family; and James cherished every moment spent with his daughter TequJa Myers; stepson, Shawn Houston, and his daughter·-in-law, Shenita Houston.
James was also a proud grandfather of six grandsons: Jamal Love, Jarod Love, Jawan Love, Jarvis Houston, Jarod Houston, and Joshua Houston. He was also blessed with many great grandchildren, and he leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews who will deeply miss him.
James's legacy of love, kindness and wisdom will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
