Jessie Pauline Rose (Allen) was born in Harlem, NY on July 26, 1927 to the late David and Edna Rose. She was the 6th of 8 children.
At the age of 8 years old, her mother passed away causing her and her siblings to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA where she attended middle school and high school.
It was in high school where she first met and befriended Robert Lee Allen. After high school, Jessie moved back to Harlem, NY where she began her journey into adulthood. She gave birth to Ronald Eugene Rose in August 1950.
While visiting friends and family in Pittsburgh, she reconnected with her high school friend Robert Lee Allen, and on November
2, 1964 the two got married in Arlington, VA. The newlyweds moved to Chicago, IL where they began their life together. They moved to Chicago Heights, IL in 1968. Together they had their only daughter Margaret Lee Allen in February 1971.
For many years Jessie worked as a timekeeper for Material Service Corporation and ultimately ended up retiring from Ludeman Center in 1992. Early in her adult life she was baptized in Jesus' Name and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost. She loved the Lord and it was her joy to carry out His work She belonged to a few local community churches over the years including Christ for Everyone Ministries, Mt. Sinai Apostolic Church, and Apostolic Church of Christ.
Jessie Pauline Rose (Allen) closed her eyes and departed this
earthly life on May 17, 2024 at the age of 96. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Edna and David Rose; her longtime, friend and husband, Robert Lee Allen; brothers: Richard, David, and Teddy Rose; sisters: Margaret Baba, Helen Roberts, Edna Gadsden, and Alyce Eubanks; her son, Ronald Rose; and her grandson, Derick Richardson.
Jessie was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She had a great sense of humor and a big personality that changed the atmosphere when she entered the room. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Adewale) Allen-Adeyemo, 6 grandchildren: Ronald (Sharmarra) Rose, Derrick Jackson, Emily Allen, Adrian Durden, Julian Durden, and Diamond Rose.
15 great-grandchildren: Kaylen, Stephen, Isaiah, Jeremy, Willie Jr., Jamarion, Jesse, Jaylen, Khalil, Jordan, ]ace, Melani, Nova, Journee and Jai. Jessie is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
