JoAnn Edmonson Obituary
Joann Edmonson was born September 22, 1942 in Malisus, TN to Anderson and Lula Hart. They moved to Robbins, IL on November 21, 1951. She attended Lincoln Memorial Grammer School, Thomas J. Kellar and Eisenhower High School. She met and married Franklin D. Edmonson. To this union were born seven children: five daughters and two sons.
Joann joined Greater Christian Unity M.B. Church and was baptized on July 6, 1969 under the leadership of Rev. Berlin Jenkins. Singing in the adult choir and later on the Nurses Ministry, she continued being a faithful member under the leadership of the late Rev. Lavell Jenkins and under the leadership of Rev. Leandre Marshall. She joined the Mother’s Board serving until the Lord called her home a few days ago.
“Ms. J” as she was called by her family and “Patty” by all who knew her went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning December 14, 2018 when her heavenly father came to take her home to reign with Him. During her months of illness she leaned heavily on the Lord and did not complain, calling upon Him to help her bear the pain, when many times she could have called upon her loved ones, but refused to do so. She knew that her God could help her better than they could. She was a woman of great faith and believed that one day she would be healed. Now she is healed and safe in the arms of her God in a place called Heaven.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Franklin D. Edmonson; father and mother Anderson and Lula Hart, four brothers: Joe Willie Hart, A.C. Hart, Samuel Hart, and Morris Hart; two sisters: Mary Boone and Betty Kellogg; two grandchildren: Tamara Jackson and Martin Edmonson; and one great grandson, Deandre Allen.
