John Sinatra Burrage, affectionately known as Baby John, was born to the union of John C. Thompson Sr. and Lillie Jean Burrage on November 19, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. John was a curious child, eager to learn and assist his younger siblings. He was a leader among his many cousins and spent most of his days at his Grandma Odie Mae Burrage’s house.
He accepted Christ as an early age and was baptized at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.
John attend Paul Robeson High School. He completed his education, obtaining a G.E.D in 1990.
John was passionate about his family and friends. He loved every aspect of fellowshipping and spending time with his loved ones. He was the jokester of the family, a true comedian. "Baby John" had an infectious smile, was quick to make friends with everyone in the neighborhood. He was fascinated and curious about many things including history, music, cooking and loved watching television with his Mom. Above all, John would give the clothes off his back for those he loved.
John was preceded in death by his beloved father, John C. Thompson Sr., his beloved brother Eugene Thompson, his beloved sisters, Jackie Thompson and Rozene Burrage, his beloved nephew Anthony L. Reed Jr., his beloved uncle Billy Burrage and Benjamin Burrage, his beloved aunt Patricia Burrage and his beloved cousin Andre Burrage.
John leaves to cherish his one and only daughter Candice T. Gregory, three grandchildren: Anija, Randy Jr., and Sieonie; his mother Lillie Jean Burrage, grandmother Odie Mae Burrage, four brothers Carlton Thompson, John C. Thompson, Michael Burrage and Fernando Burrage; three sisters Lynette Thompson, Robin Burrage-Griffith and Darcell Jones. He also leaves behind a host of aunts Margaret Turner, Annie Harris, Barbara Avilez (Francis Avilez), Betty Cegers (Louis Cegers) and Joyce Burrage and uncles Johnny Burrage, Tracy Burrage, and Jimmy Burrage, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also leaves his special and favorite cousin Priscilla Burrage, she gave him special care during his transition that mimicked their close relationship in life
