June Lorraine Monroe was born in Robbins, IL. on June 27, 1939, to the union of Mable and Carlos Lindsey. On March 3, 1955, she married her beloved husband, Curtis Maurice Monroe, Sr.
They shared 55 years of marriage and were blessed with five children.
June attended Blue Island Community High School in Blue Island, Illinois. Some of her passions were spending time with her grandchildren; and her dogs; investing in real estate; renovating homes; and being a caretaker at Howe Mental Health Developmental Center, from which she would later retire.
On June 13th, her gentle, and giving soul, departed this life. Preceding her in death are her husband, Curtis, Sr.; her daughter, Marilyn; and her son, Curtis, Jr.
June leaves to cherish her memory: Sheila (Raymond) Foy, Carlos (Delesk) Monroe, and Calvin (Tracie) Monroe; her grandchildren: Terrance, Raymond, Jr., Curtis, III, Bruce, Daniel, Costee, Diamond, Michael, Curtis, IV, Erica, Chavea, Carlos, Jr., Jaden, and Jenaya; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
