Karla Kay Clark-Tapps was born to her parents, Prentiss M. Washington and John W. Clark on September 12, 1962 at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, IL. She made her transition on March 27, 2019 at 4:01 p.m.
Karla attended Thornridge High School and dedicated her life to the 100th Club in downtown Harvey, Illinois October 13, 1994.
Karla was married to Columbus Tapps from February 15, 1996 to June 14, 2007.
She worked at Halsted Manor in Harvey, Illinois for over 20 years then went on to start her own cab company (Lady Cab) for 5-6 years. She loved helping people and wanted to do more for others. She was also invovled in the 100th Club for over 15 years.
Karla dedicated her life to Christ at Wayside Chapel in Chicago, IL.
Karla is preceded in death by her mother and father; and brothers: Ricardo (Ricky), Theodore (Teddy) and Jerry.
She survived by her two daughters: Briana and Brandi Tapps; sisters: Barbara Washington, Kimberly Clark; brothers: Paul, Cecil, and Melvin Sr. Clark; and a host of nieces and nephews. Also her two special babies (pets) Peanut and Mama.
