Keane Ates' Obituary
Keane Ates Obituary
Keane Dermel Ates was born in Chicago, IL on December 10, 1996. He is the oldest of three children; and the only child born of parents Keyona Ates and Terry Turner.
Keane attended Rosa Parks elementary school and earned his high school diploma from Thornton Township High School. He later completed his basic certificate from the security training center.
Keane affectionately known by family and close friends as "Buddha" initially for his round cherubic face as a child and more so for his calm polite demeanor and intellect as he got older. "Buddha" was generous and filled to the brim with knowledge gained from his readings and never-ending Google searches. "Buddha" could build or fix anything, and he was willing to do so for anyone.
"Buddha" was also strong willed and stubborn at times, but he will be remembered for his enormous heart and fierce protectiveness of his family and friends.
Keane is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother,
Cynthia Ates; and Grandfather Kenneth Mabry; his aunt, Lucille Walker; uncles: Derrick Ates and Edward Turner.
Keane is survived by his mother, Keyone Ates; father, Terry Turner; son, Emmanuel Blakeney; paternal grandmother, Aletha T. Robinson; sister, Joi Saunders; brother, Keandre Ates; niece, Kehlani Ates; cousins/brothers: Korey Collier, Demetrius Ates, Antonio Paris, and Antwan Paris; aunts: Karolynne Ates, Kiesha Ates, Kandence Ates, Victoria Ates, Catherine Jones, Aletha Robinson, Shana Turner and Doris Turner; and a host of many great aunts, cousins and close family friends.
