Kenneth Darnell Lloyd was born to the union of Mr. John T. Lloyd and May Ellen Lloyd on September 12, 1960 in Harvey, Illinois. Kenneth was called many loving and affectionate names "Kenny D.,Big Ken, Big Willie, Kool, Old School, Boss, Bae and Poohdie". Kenny graduated from Thornridge High School. Kenneth enlisted in the Military after high school. He served as a Marine June 27, 1978 through July 25, 1985 and received an Honorable Discharge with a Lance Corporal ranking. While serving Kenny was on the All Marine Boxing Team. Kenny was united in marriage to Tammy R. Moore on May 24, 1997.
Kenny accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined Union Missionary Baptist Church in Robbins, IL under the leadership of Rev. James Cowthran Jr. In 1996. Kenny served as a loyal member and as Rev. Cowthran Armor Barrier.
Kenny worked at a few companies while living in North Carolina in his twenties prior to returning to Illinois. He worked at Andrews Corporation/Commscope for 25 years prior to the company closing. Kenny started working at Fuchs Lubrication two days after leaving Commscope. Kenny’s hard work ethics and warm personality made it easy for coworkers to welcome him and called him Old School Boss.
Kenny and his wife Tammy of 24 years traveled the world together starting with their engagement trip. He also loved taking road trips to visit their daughter, grandbaby and family in various states. He was thrilled to become a grandfather (Pop Pop). Kenny was a Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Godfather Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and Friend. He touched so many lives with his generosity. Kenny was a loyal human being that would give you the clothes off his back and jewelry too. He would say all the time "The Lord Knows My Heart".
Kenneth Darnell Lloyd made his transition to go rest with the Lord on April 5, 2020. Preceding him in death: Farther; John T. Lloyd, Mother; May Ellen Lloyd, Brother; George Moore.
Kenny leaves to cherish his loving memories; Wife; Tammy, 2 daughters; Tarasha, Bianca (Ashley), 1 son; Kendal, 3 Grandchildren; Sasha, Lucy, Ashton; 3 brothers; Jimmy, David, Byron (Tami), 2 sisters; Sheila (Martha), Janice (Don), 4 Godchildren; Thomas James, Lil Bobby, Jakiah, Madison, 2 Best Friends; Timothy Wordlaw, Bobby Moore and a host of brother and sister in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, co-workers and many friends.
Gone but never will be forgotten ?
They family appreciates all the calls, texts, cards, condolences and gifts of hope and generosity. We would like to thank everyone for the food and essential items left especially at this time. We will reach out to everyone individually at a later date.
