Larry John Powell was born August 4, 1952 in Chicago, IL. to the union of Joseph Powell, Sr. and Edna Belle Powell.
Lany graduated from Hillcrest High School, and joined the Navy. Larry was united in Holy Matrimony to Kathleen on February 2, 1986. From this union 1 child was born.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Joseph Powell, Jr; and his sister, Carolyn Powell.
On Saturday, June 7th, 2025, Larry departed this life.
Lany leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Kathleen Powell; daughters: Lisa and Janee Powell-Tavares, Kimberly Wilkerson, and Chantell Magee; his grandchildren: Belle Powell-Tavares, IShon Fields, and ISlyn Scott; his brothers and sisters: Vernon Powell, Daniel Powell, Sr. (Laura), Michael, Barbara, Tyron,
Melvin, Charles, Sandra (Van), Paul (Luaicia), and Deborah; and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
