Lillian Beaty's Obituary
Lillian Beaty Obituary
Sister LILIAN BEATY, the daughter of Jack and Karan James was born on April 30, 19 25 in Bude, Mississippi. She was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2019.
Lillian accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age at the Little Rock AME church and remained faithful to the will of God for the rest of her life.
She traveled to Argo, Illinois on October 16, 1944 where she made many loving friends in the community. In Argo where she remained for 78 years, she was known as the epitome of beauty, grace and charm. Not forgetting her devout religious up-brining, she joined St. Matthews AME Church, remaining a faithful member of the choir until her health failed.
She was employed at the Corn Products Refining Company, a diligent, dedicated worker for forty-two years.
Lillian married Frank Beaty on July 20, 1964. They were a perfect match. They loved to dress up. Shopping was therapy for the couple. Any Saturday, they would be seen at Bon-wit Teller, the ultimate shopping store. They worked together to purchase the beautiful home they lived in and enjoyed until Frank passed on October 13, 1972.
Although Lillian had no children of her own, she was a mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Her best days were when she traveled to Africa in 2004 with World Vision. There she was fortunate enough for the first time to lay eyes on her long-distance adopted children.
Lillian enjoyed an extraordinary relationship with her family. After ninety-four years, she has left to cherish her memory, brothers, Edward Cameron (Bobbie) of Bude, Mississippi, Sendre James of McComb, Mississippi, Dennis James of New Orleans LA; sisters, Jacqueline Bell (Lynwood) of New Orleans, LA, Connie Clements of New Orleans, LA, Sybrenia James, LA New Orleans, LA, Paula James, of New Orleans, LA, Shelia Cameron(sister-in-law) and Mazie Mister of Argo, Illinois.
We thank God for the life and legacy of LILLIAN JAMES BEATY.
