Loretta Jackson was born on November 10, 1952, to the union of Bernard E. Davis and Dorothy Birdette-Davis. She was the only child of this union. Loretta was raised by her grandmother, Mrs. Alpha Birdette, with the help of her daughter Mrs. Jean Thompson. God was always in her life until she took her last breath.
Loretta's youth was always filled with challenges, but with God's help, she always rose to the top. After high school, she moved to Decatur, IL, and started her adult life. It was there that she had her son Kareem Shaw. Loretta worked for Sears for 8 years. Then she worked for 2 years at a nursing facility. After 20 years of being downstate, she began missing home and moved back to Harvey, IL. area.
Loretta met and fell in love with Mr. Carl Jackson Sr. and his two little sons: Carl Jr. and Michael. They were married in November of 1990, and then she was complete. God gave her a wonderful gift of Arc, and she was truly a person who loved co help people. She was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church of Dixmoor, IL, until her health failed.
Loretta transitioned from mortal to eternal life on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 947 a.m. at University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL., with family at her bedside as she was welcomed into Paradise.
