Louis Ruffin, 88, of Harvey, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. He is survived by his loving family. Mr. Louis Ruffin was born m Riderwood, AL on December 14, 1935, to Alonzo and Bessie Ruffin.
At a youthful age, he migrated to Tuscaloosa, Al, Gadsden, AL and then made his home in the Chicago, Illinois area and made his last residence in Harvey, Illinois.
Death came peacefully to Louis Ruffin after a long struggle. He is in a peaceful place and has asked many times for God to grant him the peace. The morning of June 22, 2024, God graciously allowed him to peacefully take his last breath with no more suffering.
Louis leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted son, who was also his caregiver for an extended period until his death, Gamaliel Louis Dawson, Harvey, IL; Daughters; Deborah Scamps, Lee Comish, Gadsden, AL, Sharon Riley (Lee), Chicago Heights, IL; Sons; Dennis Dawson (Sarah) of Camden, MS, Louis Michael Ruffin, St. Louis, MO. One brother, Lee Charles Ruffin (Beatrice) of Riderwood, AL, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death: sons; Lourida Ruffin and Bobby Ruffin. Sisters; Amanda Ulmer, Earlene Lewis, Rosa Kimbrough, Viola Smith, Glady's Jones, Inell Williams, Queen Ester Nicholson; Brothers; Ernest Ruffin, Wilson Ruffin, Floyd Ruffin, and Jimmy Ruffin.
