Mae Ellen Lloyd was born to the union of Mr. Leonard Lee Cruthirds and Fairy Ann McKee Cruthirds on September 21, 1933 in Calhoun County, Mississippi.
Mae attended North Calhoun High School in Bruce, MS. In 1954 Mae moved to Illinois. Mae was united in marriage to John Thomas Lloyd out of that union were born 7 children.
Mae accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age. Mae’s passion was helping everyone. She was sweet, kind, loving, caring and very compassionate. Mae served 27 years at Oak Forest Hospital and on from there she continued to help the elderly. Mae was well known as a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and most of all granny.
In 1978 Mae joined the Monument Of Faith Evangelical Church under the leadership of Apostal Richard D. Henton. For forty years she served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee; there she really enjoyed touching peoples lives.
Mae’s spare-time consisted of cooking, baking, gardening, church functions and most of all reading the word of God.
Mae Ellen Lloyd went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, elder sister, younger brother, husband, grandson and her oldest son George Robert.
She leaves to cherish; her loving memories; 2 daughters; Sheila (Martha), Janice (Don); 4 sons: Jimmy, Kenny (Tammy), David Steve (Tami); her surviving siblings: Mae Ray Williams of Oxford, MS, Leola Cruthirds Rose of Bruce, MS, Dorthy Hall of South Holland, IL, Bobbie Ruth Anderson of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, loved ones and many, many friends.
