Mary Lillian Bryant was born in Monticello, MS on July 8, 1920 to Artie McGowan. Mary attended school in Monticello, MS She met the love of her life in MS, and married him in 1944. This union lasted for 61 vears In 1952, she and her family migrated from Mississippi to Harvey, IL. She was employed at Jean's Bakery, and retired after 38 years of service. She became a member of Wesley Methodist Church, now Transformation Community UMC, where she worked faithfully in the kitchen ministrv. She attended Transformation Community UMC faithfully until her health failed. Her mother and father preceded her in death.
Mary was married to E. B. Bryant in 1944, who preceded her in death. She was a middle child of five children: brother, Henry Williams; sisters, Lynell Robinson, Ruby Shaffer who all preceded her in death 1 She leaves to cherish her memory: brother Willie C. McGowan (Margaret) of Flossmoor, IL son, James Stovall of Flossmoor, IL daughter, Catherine Cantrell of Harvey, IL; four grandchildren:
