Michael "Anthony" Purnell departed this life on Sunday, December ro, 2023- He was the third child born to Willie Lewis and Clara Mae Purnell on September 1, 1965.
Anthony was born with Down Syndrome. His personality was one of a kind. He was always giving out big hugs and handshakes. Anthony's smile would light up a room, especially once he saw his mother.
In his early years, Anthony attended Echo School in South Holland, Illinois, which served students with disability conditions which impacted their educational needs.
Anthony accepted Christ at an early age he had attended True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Dixmoor, IL. along with his mother.
Later in life, Anthony traveled to Mississippi where he resided with his father until 2017. He then moved back to Chicago where Gerald was a caregiver from 2019 to 2021 .
Anthony transitioned at Crescent Care in Elgin, IL. He is preceded in death by his father, Willie Lewis Purnell; his mother, Clara Mae Purnell; and his brother, Larry Purnell.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memories a brother Gerald Purnell, and aunt Jessie Wright, and uncle Willie, James Wright, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
