Michelle Cunningham was born June 4th, 1964, to her mother Lois Jean Smith in Maury N.C. Michelle and her mother moved to Markham, IL. when she was just a coddler and became a part of David and Pearl Dixon family.
Michelle accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Markham, IL. where she became a member of the youth choir, and the teen choir. Later she became a member at New Beginnings Full Gospel located in South Holland. Michelle was part of the Choir, and she also served on the Mothers Board.
Michelle attended Riley Grade School, and graduated from Thornwood High Schoo1. After graduation she attended Illinois State University. Michelle was briefly married to John Cunningham.
Michelle held a couple of jobs before landing a job with the Chicago Cubs in the ticket office. While at the Chicago Cubs, she was able to meet such players as Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ron Santo; and she even got a signed baseball from Buck O'Neil of the old Negro League. As Michelle's health began to deteriorate and her eyesight declined, Michelle had to go on disability, but her spirit for life continued.
Michelle departed this life on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Lois Jean Smith, her adopted Mother and Father: David and Pearl Dixon; and adopted Brother, Adrian Dixon.
Michelle leaves co cherish her memory to: her brother, John Dixon (Angela); sister, Daphne Dixon; nieces, nephews: Phaedra Martin (Kenyata), John Dixon, Jr. (Danielle); her great nieces and nephews: Kenyata, Jr, Mckenzie, David, Skylar, John, III, Jamie; and a host of family and friends.
