Nantambu K. Robinson was born in Chicago, IL on September 1, 1973. He was born to Jackie and Penny Carroll Robinson and was the second of their three sons. In his early years, Nanatambu attended Beasley Academic Center and was a member of their inaugural kindergarten class. He attended Beasley until eigth grade and continued his acacademic career at Hirsch Metropolitan High School in Chicago, IL.
At the age of 16, he transferred to Rich Central in Olympia Fields, IL where he exceled in honors courses and participated in several extracurricular activities such a yearbook club, future business leaders club, and Afro club. Upon graduating in 1991, he attended
The University of Illinois at Chicago for one year until he transferred to Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL where he received his Associate’s Degree. Nantambu then went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Techonology and Security at Westwood College.
Those who knew Nantambu best knew him for his fun-loving nature, impeccable wit, and remarkable sensibilty. Those are only a few, yet fitting words that spoke to the essence of the overall character of Nantambu K. Robinson. If you ever had the opportunity to be around him for any significant amount of time you would soon realize that all the above described him perfectly. Nantambu always had an amazing abilitity to lighten the mood no matter the occasion. His easygoing nature and unmatched intelligence on a variety of issues made him all the more engaging and sought after not only amongst family members but friends and co-workers.
A well-read man, he seemingly had a photographic memory. Learning was never an issue for him. He had a knowledge of a little bit of everything, including literature, music, sports, technology, films and even so-called “pop culture”. He knew it all in striking and minute detail. His thoughts on these topics were as original as they were insightful. It is for these reasons and many others he will be profoundly missed. At the heart of it all, he was a fun-loving soul.
His personality was infectious and you couldn’t help but smile while he was around. His radiant optimism and goodness throughout his life will be his lasting legacy.
Nantambu was preceded in death by several of his loved ones including his paternal grandfather James D. Robinson, his paternal grandmother Jessie Mae Robinson, his maternal grandfather Robert K. Carroll Sr. and his maternal grandmother Eva Carroll. In addition, he was preceded by his Aunt Toy and her husband Kenneth Sr., Aunt Eva and her husband Uncle Milton (Mickey) Sr., Aunt Carol who is survived by her husband Ezel, Aunt Miriam and Uncle Levargus. He is survived by his father and mother, as well as his two brothers Kenyatta and Ketema. His memory will also be cherished and remembered by his Aunt Jacqueline, Uncle Eddie, Aunt Brenda and her husband Ted as well as his Aunt Nancy and her husband William, Uncle Ameen and his wife Kareemah, Uncle Ronald Sr., Uncle Lovell, Uncle Charley, Uncle Abdullah and his wife Amirah, Uncle Durrell and his wife Lori, Uncle Arnold and a countless number of cousins.
