Norman L. Cohn, Sr. departed this life May IO, 2024, at 6:05 p.m. at home surrounded by family and friends.
Norman, Sr. was born December IO, 1946, m Benton Harbor, Michigan to Edgar and DeaEster Cohn. At an early age, he accepted Christ as a member of The Church of Christ. Norman attended Benton Harbor Area schools; and graduated from Benton Harbor High school. Norman joined the U.S. Army right out of high school. Sergeant Cohn served 2 tours in the Vietnam War; he later drove semi-trucks for many years; he was known as "Traveling Man" until retirement.
Norman, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents; as well as three brothers: Arthur, Raymond, and Charles Cohn; and his four sisters: Helen, Eddie Mae, Ruth Brock, and Bonnie Cohn.
Norman, Sr. leaves to cherish: his loving wife, Patricia Mason-Cohn of Hazel Crest, IL; from his first marriage (r Son), Norman (Crystal) Cohn, Jr. of Hammond, IN; (2 Children): Tanya and Jemal
(Kimberly) Gill of Atlanta, GA; 2 Stepsons from present marriage: Benjamin (Latonya) Mason, and Kevin (Amelda) Mason of Gary, IN (4 Grandchildren): Courtney Mason of Gary, IN., Norman L. Cohn, III of Matteson, IL. Nia, and Nova (Bop Bop) Cohn of Hammond, IN; countless others who called him "Pops"; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
