Pink Jones Obituary
Pink (PJ) Jones was born in Heidelberg, Mississippi on September 1, 1929 to Issac and Julia Mae Jones . P.J. was baptized at an early age ,and educated in the Mississippi School System. P.J. married the love of her life Annie P. Jones on January 28, 1952. Unto this union their son Frank Jones was born. The family relocated to Chicago in 1955. P.J. work as a construction worker most of his life until retirement. P.J. had a great fondness for sports, mostly baseball and Quartet singers. P.J. made Jesus her savior and became a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Cowthran Jr. P.J. purchased his home in Blue Island, Illinois were he reside for over 60 years. He was a pillar of the community and was well known in Blue Island and Robbins, Illinois.
On the afternoon of Monday, December 27, 2021 God looked down and said “Pink (P.J.) job well done”, and at this time P.J. followed his heavenly father home. P.J. was preceded in death by his Wife, Annie P. Jones; Son, Frank Jones; Mother, Julia, Mae, Father Issac Jones; Brothers, Johnny Jones, James Jones, Dennis Jones; Sisters, Arie Evans, Savannah Walker.
P.J. will be missed but lives on in the hearts of his 5 Children, Rose, Sharlean, Lynette, Percy, Antwan; Sister, Irene Butler ; Daughter-in-law Gloria Jones; two close friends he loved as brothers, Henry Lee and Lovell (Bear) Rogers; Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
