Ras Smith Obituary
Ras James Smith was born on December 23, 1939, to the union of Elma Lee King and James Smith in Deeson, MS. Who Preceeded him in death. He accepted Christ at Mt.Hope Church at an early age.
He later left Mississippi for New Orleans, to pursue a better life. He then proceeded to Chicago Illinois, where he gained employment at Marina Trucking as a truck driver.
Affectionately know as RJ, he was a good man who loved his family and was loved by many.
Two siblings preceeded him in death, Roosevelt Smith and Merleen Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers and sisters, Verdena, Tommy (Lula), Catherine, Maggie, Elmore (Johnny), Mary, Peter, Roy and RC. His children Gloria, Taiwan, Dorothy M., Demetrius, Dorothy Jean (Robert), Richard, Teneshia, Dawn (Gilbert), Carolyn, Corey, Lil James and Della. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
