Thomas Carl Bouie, Sr. was born on March 10, 1944, to General G. and Cloria Bouie. The eighth of eleven children, he was the youngest of six brothers, all of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved sisters, Earlene and Evelyn.
After graduating from the Blue Island Community High School, now known as Eisenhower, Thomas began his career at White Castle as a janitor. Through hard work and dedication, he eventually rose to a position in the maintenance department, ultimately serving as the maintenance supervisor.
After 48 years of service, the highlight of his career was when he met his fellow co-worker, the love of his life Janis. Thomas and Janis dated for some time, enjoying each other's companionship. The two married on June 27, 1970 and to this union they welcomed two sons. Thomas Carl Jr and Russell Allen. Their family was blessed with the arrival of their granddaughter, Ravyne Rashia born on March 1, 2009.
Thomas occasionally attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, in Chicago, with his wife. He enjoyed time with his family and going to events. He was a devoted husband and a loving and attentive caregiver to his wife during her illness until her passing 2020.
In his leisure time, Thomas enjoyed golfing, bowling and doing projects around the house. He cherished good food and family gatherings, enjoyed watching sports and treasured moments spent with his granddaughter. He was known for his kind-hearted nature and laughter, never complaining, and always prioritizing the needs of others. One of his most enjoyable pastimes was sitting outside listening to music and relaxing.
After dealing with numerous health issue, on October 11, 2024. God decided to it was time for Thomas to rest. As he reunited with his wife, Janis Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, cherished by his two sons, Thomas Jr. and Russell, his granddaughter, Ravyne;
