Karie (Plair) Fulwiley was born March 24, 1924 to Pompie and Ella (Sanders) Plair in Starkville, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age; and united in Holy Matrimony to Harvey Fulwiley; this union born ten children; the family took residence in Chicago Heights, IL.
Karie worked various jobs during her lifetime, including cleaning homes, and later working in the Dietary Department at Riviera Manor Nursing Home, Chicago Heights, IL; and Four Seasons Nursing Center in Hazel Crest, IL; which later became Imperial Nursing Center, from there she later retired.
Karie was very Religious; .she loved going to Church. She joined St. James CME Church in Chicago Heights, IL, and became a member of the 'DAP Club' in which she always said it meant, "Do As You Please... Just as long as it Pleases God." Later she became a member of Schaeffer Chapel AME Church in Harvey, IL; she also served as a member of the 'Mothers' Club'.
Karie lived a long, and prosperous life. She loved cooking, dancing, singing, Bingo, and playing the Lottery..She also loved taking care of her children, and grandchildren; providing a good role model, and discipill1!11g them whenever necessary.
Karie was called to be with God on September 1, 2025; she went in Peace and with Dignity. Karie was preceded in death by her parents, Pompie and-Ella Plair; her husband, Harvey
Fulwiley; daughter, Sadie Am-)Fulwiley; (our sisters: Allie Copeland, Evalia Leonard, Emma Plair, and Ella Plair; five brothers: Essie :p. Plair, Woqdie Plair, Pompie Plair, Jr., Dan Plair, and Lucious Plair.
Karie leaves to cherish her loving and fond·memories to six daughters: Alma Salter of Markham, IL, Thelma Bryant of Lagrange, GA, Millicent Robinson of Chicago, IL, Rosetta Fulwiley of Blue Island, IL, Allie_Richmond of Harvey, IL Deloris Fulwiley of Harvey, IL. and Annette Smith of Harvey, IL; two sons: Harvey (Marlett) Fulwiley, Jr. of Riverdale, IL, and Melvin Fulwiley, her son of Park Forest, IL; her one living brother, John Plair; a host of grandchildren; great, grand; great, great, grand; great, great, great, grand; great, great, great, great, grands; nieces; nephews, and friends of which she truly will be missed and well loved.
