Verjestice Shotwell Obituary
VERJESTICE SHOTWELL, was the 1st of 3 children born to Mr. Pink Jackson and Mrs. Bertha Moore Shotwell on September 12, 1936, in Cordova, TN. Both parents preceded him in death; as well as two brothers: Mr. Terry Shotwell and Robert Preston Shotwell. Also preceding him in death are two sons: Stanley Benson and Verjestice Shotwell, II.
VERJESTICE obtained his education in the school system of Cordova, TN; after graduation he relocated to the Chicago area in 1958.
VERJESTICE was employed by Com Products Refinery for two years, before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he worked as an electrician. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal; and was honorably discharged and returned to Corn Products. He worked various positions and retired as a supervisor after 40 plus years.
VERJESTICE returned to Gary and met Bettye June Clark whom he married in 1'758; to this union 2 children were born: Sonja Shotwell and Verjestice Shotwell, II.
VERJESTICE accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was a devoted husband, and father. His favorite sports were bowling, golfing, and hunting.
VERJESTICE is survived by his wife, Bettye June Shotwell; daughter, Sonja Shotwell; his loving grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
