I have really lovely memories of being welcomed into my aunt Verna and uncle Butler's home many times starting from my teens years. Aunt Verna made the best chicken salad which she kept on hand in the fridge along with a pitcher of Kool Aid at the ready. She was a very good listener to my teenage thoughts and a very good person to listen to as well. Her smile was easy, her humor was generous and she telegraphed her love for the Lord in her words and deeds. She was a wise and present person I am so very, very glad to have had her and my uncle Butler in my life. May you rest in the arms of Jesus, Aunt Verna.
