Victor Anderson's Obituary
Victor Anderson Obituary
Victor Kenneth Anderson Jr., 78, was born on February 26, 1940 to Victor Anderson Sr. and Helen (Clark) Anderson in Chicago, IL. He suddenly went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2018, at his home in Harvey, Illinois.
As a child growing up, Victor attended Bethel AME Church where he accepted Christ as his personal savior. He attended Lincoln Memorial in Robbins, IL, for grammar school, and Blue Island Community High School where he met the love of his life, Carolyn S. Anderson. They married in March, 1959 and had two children, Victor K. Anderson III and LaDonna Anderson-Howard.
Victor was a skillful welder and worked over 35 years at Caterpillar Tractor in Joliet, IL, where he retired in 1999. He was also very active in a bowling league and got much joy from keeping his home, lawn, and vehicles in meticulous order. Victor was a joyful, well-loved, social person, but above everything he was a devout family man and provider.
Victor is preceded in death by his parents, Victor Anderson Sr. and Helen (Clark) Anderson; his son, Victor K. Anderson III; and great-grandson, Isaiah. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Carolyn S. Anderson; daughter, LaDonna Anderson-Howard (Larry); sister, Patricia Reed; brother, Maurice Anderson (Beverly); grandchildren, LaMar Anderson (TiAnna) and Breana Howard; great grandchildren, Trenton, Josiah, Ivan, Jurnee, and Isreal; mother-in-law, Pearlie Smith; brother-in-law, Arthur Smith Jr. (Francis); and a host of extended family and friends.
We will deeply miss Victor’s dedication to family first, his fun-loving attitude and tender way he cared for his wife, Carolyn S. Anderson, but we take comfort in knowing we will see him again one day.
