Virginia Lee Holmes Parker affectionately known as "Jenny" was born May 11, 1959 in Duncan, MS to Virgie Lee Wilson (Isaac Jackson Sr.) and George Holmes Jr. Five siblings, Feranell (Faye), Isaac Jr. (Ike Jr.), Willie (George) and Jimmie, dad Isaac Sr., and husband George E. Parker proceeded her in death. Virginia confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at St. Jacob AME Church in Duncan, MS under the leadership of Rev. T.M. Foster. After moving to Chicago, IL, she joined Westside Baptist.
Virginia attended Polk Elementary Gifted school, later moving to W.E.B. Dubois Elementary, Christian Fenger High School in Chicago, IL. Virginia graduated from Robert Morris College in 1978 with an Associate's Degree in Business. Virginia worked many years as a Stocks & Bonds manager at Mellon Bank in downtown Chicago, IL before moving on to Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) in Chicago, IL and later TCA Health & HRDI in Chicago, IL where she gained many friends.
Virginia, known to many as Jenny, was loved and respected by many people. Jenny was our family "go-to" person. Jenny handled the business and got the job done. Whatever you needed, she knew the right person to send you to. Jenny enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Often having just, the right lottery number or winning scratch-off ticket, Jenny was our luckiest family member. Jenny will be missed tremendously.
Virginia made her transition to be with the Lord on July13, 2024. We are forever grateful to have had Virginia in our lives. Her memory will live on through her loving mother, Virgie Lee Jackson, daughters: Yolanda 'Tinie" , Kenyawtta "Kay Kay" (Darnen) and stepdaughter Ivory and stepsons Brian Parker and Kenneth Ross. Grandchildren: Devonna (Deon), Garry, Donovan, Staniya, Ava, Janriya, Angel, Jacob, Two great-grandchildren: Dallas and Daliylah, Sisters: Inrn "Dean"(Charles), Elma 'Jean", Betty Goner, Dominique & Alisha Weddle and a
brother Bishop Gregory L Holmes Goner, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, One uncle Ras Cooper (Diane) of Horn
Lalce, MS. Two Special friends: Gregory Jones and Ronald Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
