Willie Lee Copprue (Uncle Bill) seated in this picture, was my mother's older brother. A WWII Navy Seabee veteran.. I will never forget a story he once told me; when mom was in labor with her first born, my older brother (Albert), Uncle Bill quickly jumped on an old mule and rode more than ten miles to fetch a doctor. I share this story because without the swift action of Uncle Bill and that old mule, my mother and older brother probably would not have survived. Mom's survival subsequently enabled her to give birth to me and seven more siblings, seventeen grand nieces and nephews, and numerous great grand...The Jefferson family will be forever grateful and blessed, for having had you as our uncle. Rest in peace Uncle Bill, you will be missed.
